Position Summary:

The role of a Construction CDL Truck Driver is crucial within our operations. This skilled position involves the operation of dump trucks and/or water trucks with various trailer configurations to transport soil, water, gravel, and other materials to and from job sites efficiently. The driver may also be required to switch between tasks as needed based on workflow demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Operate trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials through daily logs.
  • Verify material types and ensure compliance with weight restrictions.
  • Ensure proper loading of materials onto trucks and trailers.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions diligently.
  • Exhibit strong maneuvering and backing skills.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle safety through daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, and other critical components.
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Prepare the vehicle for the next day’s operations, including refueling.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of personal and co-worker safety.
  • Transport various construction materials to designated job sites as assigned.
  • Operate different types of dump trucks, including side-dumps, end-dumps, pup, and flatbed trailers.
  • Ensure trailer cleanliness to prevent material contamination.
  • Adapt to changes in schedule, location, and shift timings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training is highly valued.
  • Preferred candidates will have relevant education or credentials from recognized educational institutions.
  • Possession of a Class A CDL is mandatory.
  • A valid Medical Card in compliance with DOT standards is required.
  • A clean driving record is essential.
  • Compliance with all DOT regulations for commercial vehicle operations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as sitting, walking, lifting, and climbing.
  • Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and job hazards.
  • Ability to handle strenuous physical labor.
