Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated team player to join us as a Laboratory Services Associate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the laboratory is equipped with clean and functional space, glassware, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all established protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks.
  • Collect and manage used or soiled labware.
  • Clean labware using suitable methods to maintain necessary sterility levels.
  • Operate autoclave equipment as required.
  • Restock labware in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of laboratory counter spaces.
  • Manage benchtop consumables inventory.
  • Dispose of biohazard waste containers responsibly.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks of consumables.
  • Report any safety incidents or concerns promptly.
  • Communicate maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform light clerical tasks and maintain office organization.
  • Occasionally assist with offsite tasks, including parcel collection and delivery.
  • Support R&D teams with various miscellaneous tasks.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Self-motivated and diligent work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Preferred:
  • Experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Associate degree in biotechnology or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety and hazard communication.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to remain seated or standing for long durations.
  • Dexterity to manipulate objects, including keyboard use.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Mobility to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
