The Therapist for School-Based Services will deliver mental health and/or substance use treatment within educational environments to students who have been referred for assistance, with the necessary consent from parents or guardians. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, counseling, and making appropriate referrals. The role encompasses providing individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as offering consultation and psycho-educational support as needed by the school.

This position focuses on serving students in elementary and middle schools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – POSITION SPECIFIC


• Following a referral from the school and with parental/guardian approval, conduct initial evaluations and assessments of students. Provide recommendations for treatment and referrals as necessary.

• Create personalized treatment plans that outline the services and interventions required. Revise treatment plans as needed.

• Deliver individual, family, and/or group therapy tailored to the specific treatment needs of the student. Additionally, provide psycho-educational support as requested by the educational institution.

• Ensure thorough documentation of all services rendered, adhering to all relevant documentation standards. Maintain confidentiality of all records in compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.

• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with school staff.

• Collaborate with school personnel to coordinate services effectively.

• Offer consultation to teachers, school counselors, or other educational staff as requested.

• Engage in educational and outreach initiatives within the school and community as appropriate.

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions as required for organizational accounting and statistical purposes. Keep logs for outcome measures as specified.

• Meet established productivity expectations.

• Adhere to all professional, certification, and ethical standards in the execution of duties. Ensure current licensure and maintain good standing with the licensing board.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
