Job Summary

Kemper is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriting Associate to serve as the primary point of contact for insureds and lienholders for policy-related inquiries. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively handle all incoming calls and follow-up calls, providing superior customer service and resolving issues within company guidelines.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries, including policy interpretations, rating inquiries, and premium discrepancies.
  • Research policy information and exercise underwriting authority, escalating risks beyond designated authority levels as needed.
  • Process high-volume policy change requests from internal and external customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with questions related to billing, compliance guidelines, and procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of insurance policies and regulations.
Requirements
  • One (1) year or more of related Property & Casualty experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills, with bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Apply professional and effective phone skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
  • Capable of operating and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment.
  • Ability to use problem-solving and decision-making skills to help customers and process work.
  • Strong computer skills, including typing, spreadsheets, word processing software, and CRM applications.
  • Dependable and reliable, with a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
