Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Del Sol Food Company. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of safe and high-quality bakery products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Safety and Quality Program Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive food safety and quality program to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, food certification requirements, and company standards.
  • Site SQF Practitioner: Lead the facility in all SQF, Food Safety, Packaging Quality, Product Quality, Sanitation, and related activities.
  • Document Management: Manage site food safety documents, conduct risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
  • Supplier Management: Source and conduct pre-screening of potential ingredient and packaging suppliers.
  • Environmental Program Management: Manage environmental program, sanitation, and sanitation verification/validation activities.
  • SOP and SSOP Development: Develop and maintain site SOP's and SSOP's.
  • Non-Conformance Issue Resolution: Lead in resolving non-conformance issues/quality problems at plant.
  • Corrective Action Planning: Work with plant management team to develop corrective action plans and communicate plans to corporate QA.
  • Product Startups and Commercialization: Conduct assessment and capability studies, product startups/commercialization and provide on-site support to Plant Operations for new products, productivity, and quality programs at the direction of corporate QA/R&D.
  • Sensory Evaluations: Organize and facilitate sensory evaluations through in-house taste panels at the direction of corporate QA/R&D.
  • Technical Resource: Serve as a key technical resource in the plant and as a liaison between corporate QA, R&D, and Operations.
  • Third-Party Audits: Manage all third-party food safety audits for the location.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Independently perform data management, analysis, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. in Food Science or Technology, Bakery Science, Cereal Science, Biological Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of QA/QC management bakery manufacturing experience in a GFSI FDA and/or USDA regulated facility.
  • Certifications: SQF Practitioner, HACCP, and PCQI certification is required.
  • Skills: Must be detail oriented and organized. Must be a self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects/tasks at any given time. Must demonstrate independent and critical thinking ability, hands-on mentality/ qualities. Must be comfortable working with computers and have knowledge of MS office. Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
