Electrical Lineworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Lineworker to join our team at the City of Ocala. As an Electrical Lineworker, you will be responsible for performing construction and maintenance tasks associated with electrical lines, including operating bucket trucks, derricks, trenchers, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform construction and maintenance tasks associated with electrical lines, including operating bucket trucks, derricks, trenchers, and other equipment.
- Conform to policies and procedures for safe work practices, area protection, proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment associated with accepted line work practices.
- Visually and audibly detect malfunctions of equipment and safety hazards, and work on energized electrical power lines, equipment, and devices without interruption of normal electric service.
- Physical strength and endurance to operate tools and equipment for extended periods from bucket, poles, ladders, vaults, trenches, or confined spaces.
- Communicate with other employees in person and by two-way radio, politely and clearly, and communicate in person at job sites to customers.
- Assist in training and instruction of other personnel, and provide on-the-job training in the field to fellow crew members on proper use and operation of equipment, climbing techniques, and proper procedures and safety practices.
- High school graduate or GED.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in construction and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution power systems.
- Successful completion of related electrical courses (apprentice program) or equivalent combination of training and related experience.
- Must obtain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL CLASS A) within 90 days of employment.
- Must reside within 45 minutes of the assigned work facility within one year of date of hire or promotion.
