Position Summary:

The Sleep Study Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering care to patients undergoing sleep evaluations and treatments for sleep disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for patient arrivals by setting up necessary equipment for scheduled tests.
  • Conduct patient interviews to identify sleep-related issues and clarify testing procedures.
  • Administer prescribed tests and any additional assessments as required.
  • Provide education to patients regarding test outcomes, sleep disorders, community resources, and support groups.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair testing equipment, reporting any necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Score, interpret, and document findings from sleep studies.
  • Recognize and report any unusual patient responses during testing or treatment.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures consistently.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent certification.

Credential Verification:

Before providing patient care or undertaking responsibilities requiring licensure, candidates must present the following documentation:

  • Current or multistate license with verification.
  • Copies of required certifications, including BLS and ACLS.
  • Immunization records demonstrating immunity to specific diseases.
  • Recent TB test results.
  • Negative drug screening results.
  • Updated resume detailing work experience.
  • Documented professional references.
  • Proof of completed OSHA training.
  • Skills and competencies assessment results.
  • Criminal background check results.
  • CAPS check through the state.

Shifts: Full-time, 12-hour shifts, 7 PM - 7 AM, three nights a week
State License: Must be currently active
