Certification Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or an equivalent certification.
  • Additional Certifications: Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required, with AHA accreditation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Conduct sleep studies and assist in the treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Prepare for patient arrivals by setting up necessary equipment for scheduled tests.
  • Engage with patients to assess sleep-related issues and clarify testing procedures.
  • Execute prescribed tests and any supplementary assessments as required.
  • Provide education to patients regarding test outcomes, sleep disorders, community support networks, and available resources.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair testing equipment as needed.
  • Identify and report any necessary repairs or replacements for equipment.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document results from sleep studies.
  • Recognize and report any unusual patient responses during treatment or testing.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures consistently.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
