Position Overview: As a Meteorological Training Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role within the United States Fleet Forces Command, focusing on the development and delivery of specialized training programs in Meteorology and Oceanography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to design and implement effective training materials and courseware.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for curriculum planning, development, and periodic updates for METOC Afloat Tactical Team Trainers (MATTTs) and related training initiatives.
  • Create, assess, and enhance audio-visual instructional aids to ensure they meet educational standards and relevance.
  • Contribute to the design and formatting of training publications, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Act as a qualified instructor for METOC Afloat Tactical Team Trainers and other meteorological courses as needed.
  • Continuously update and refine lesson plans and instructional courses, leveraging the latest advancements in the Naval Oceanography Program.
  • Represent the United States Fleet Forces Command at various conferences, sharing insights on Naval Meteorology and Oceanography.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate:

  • A minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or comparable experience in the private sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of meteorological and oceanographic methodologies and their application in technical training.
  • Proficiency in training and educational techniques.
  • Familiarity with Naval METOC training resources, standards, and competencies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing and presenting technical training materials.
  • Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including management and training participants.
  • Knowledge of the APA Style Manual and relevant writing guides.
