Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Informatics CoordinatorSharp HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Informatics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for supporting the pharmacy's information and automation technology program, with a focus on managing Pyxis Systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage Pyxis Systems, including setup and daily operational integrity
- Provide technical support for current and future technologies
- Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing staff to ensure seamless integration of technology
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for technology use
- Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement
- 3+ years of experience in a hospital pharmacy environment or equivalent
- Experience with Pyxis Systems or equivalent
- California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy
- 5+ years of experience in a hospital pharmacy environment or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Database Monitoring: Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of system changes and issues
- Internal Communications: Clearly communicate technical information to pharmacy and nursing staff
- Medication Distribution Services: Review and implement modifications to the daily routine to optimize system use
- Medication Safety and Use: Participate in surveillance initiatives to identify potential medication safety issues
- Reports and Audits: Perform application extracts and analyze data to support organizational needs
- Training Development: Assist with training and evaluating pharmacy techs and pharmacists on technology use
- Knowledge of pharmacy practice terminology and duties
- Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills
- Computer literate, independently motivated, and self-directed
- Variable work shifts and holidays required as needed
