Job Summary
As a Radiology Technologist in our Orthopedic Services department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care. Under the direction of a radiologist or physician, you will perform limited radiographic procedures, utilizing your technical expertise to capture accurate and diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities
- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
- Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
- Develop and process radiologic film, delivering it to the requester for reading and interpretation.
- Maintain the x-ray exam room, stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies.
- Clean and perform minor adjustments to radiologic equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Responsible for disseminating x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log.
- Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary.
- Gather and prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over-read.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree: Completion of an accredited radiology program.
- SCRQSA license (RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD).
- American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of physician practice experience.
