Job Title: Residential Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team.

Job Summary

The Residential Instructor will provide support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being in a nurturing and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized plans to enhance the client's learning process and promote independence.
  2. Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  3. Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household management.
  4. Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or medical conditions to the supervisor or program coordinator.
  5. Administer medication to clients as prescribed, following agency policy and regulatory standards.
  6. Participate in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of developmental disabilities.
  7. Ensure the safety and well-being of clients, staff, and the community by adhering to CRI's confidentiality policy and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to transport clients.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working Sunday to Tuesday, 10pm to 9am, with 33 hours per week.
