Position Overview:
The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic student Intern to join our team. This role is focused on enhancing customer service within the AMA conservation programs.
As a customer service intern, you will assist in supporting the AMA conservation initiatives, annual reporting tasks, and general inquiries from the public. Your responsibilities will include managing communications through phone calls and emails, ensuring that customer requests are directed to the appropriate teams.
In this position, you will play a crucial role in developing customer service processes, maintaining a log of interactions, and analyzing this data to provide insights to leadership. You will also contribute to the preparation of educational materials aimed at informing groundwater right holders and assisting various AMA teams in their outreach efforts.
Additionally, you will help compile reports on customer interactions, offering valuable feedback on the challenges faced by staff. Archiving documents for state records will also be part of your duties.
Work Schedule: Hours may vary, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Assistance:
Support the preparation of hard copy reports during the reporting season. Help send notifications to right holders regarding their reporting obligations. Encourage water users to utilize online reporting tools, particularly ADWR's Online Annual Reporting Tool.Data Management & Public Records:
Assist in improving the accessibility of public records on the ADWR website. Aid in handling inquiries related to well data, pumpage, and interactive mapping tools. Support initiatives to broaden the annual reporting tool's capabilities by incorporating additional water rights and authorities.Community Outreach and User Support:
Engage with water users to facilitate access to their information on the ADWR platform. Educate users on how to effectively utilize ADWR tools and resources for better water management and compliance. Address public inquiries, assisting them in navigating the resources available on ADWR's digital platform.Desired Qualifications:
A basic understanding or eagerness to learn about the Groundwater Code, ADWR regulations, permits, management plans, and reporting requirements. Familiarity with web-based tools or a willingness to promote their use. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. An analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively and possess strong interpersonal skills. Interest in data management, user support, and facilitating digital transitions.Additional Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an academic program related to Environmental Sciences, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability, or a similar field.
