Job Overview

The role encompasses a variety of tasks related to welding preparation, execution, and adherence to detailed specifications to produce high-quality finished goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations in various positions including flat, vertical, and overhead.
  • Utilize safety equipment and comply with all safety protocols.
  • Accurately layout, position, align, and secure components before assembly using tools such as straightedges and calipers.
  • Inspect workpieces for any defects and measure them to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Set up and operate hand and power tools typical in the welding industry, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding machines.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating welding machinery.
  • Assemble metal or plastic components as needed.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and follow detailed instructions to achieve design specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of wire and filler materials for various types of metals including steel and aluminum.
  • Understand and apply welding setup parameters such as amps and volts.
  • Conduct process inspections and maintain proper documentation.
  • Perform maintenance on welding equipment as required.

Qualifications

  • ASME certification is required.
  • Experience with TIG welding is advantageous.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Current welding certification is mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of relevant welding experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
