Job OverviewHR Professional Consulting is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. As a key member of our commercial mechanical projects team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in various settings, including office buildings, hotels, and hospitals.
Key Responsibilities- Test and perform quality control on all mechanical pipe systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Lay out pipe systems, hangers, and equipment from drawings and job specifications, using your expertise to optimize installation.
- Install all mechanical piping systems and connect piping to equipment, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operation.
- Perform welding tasks at a level that meets job specifications, using oxygen and acetylene rigs to cut and bevel pipe, angle iron, and brackets.
- Mark welds made as directed by company policy and clean and paint all welds as required by the job specifications.
- Complete and maintain a weld map if required, ensuring accurate documentation of your work.
- Experience in assembling and installing a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Skilled in connecting pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, solvent welded joints, pressed, and grooved.
- Ability to secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand isometric drawings and layout, miter fittings, and fabricate branch saddles.
- Ability to fit open butt-weld and socket-weld joints.
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in commercial mechanical piping.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to work both inside and outside and around moving equipment safely.
