Customer Service Ambassador for U-Haul

The Customer Service Ambassador for U-Haul will be the face of our exceptional service, ensuring customers get the help they need on their journeys. This role involves working as part of a supportive team to inspect and maintain equipment, assist customers, and use up-to-date technology to dispatch and return equipment. On-the-job education is offered, and a $100 hiring bonus is provided upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through our 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program.

The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions. You will be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. The physical demands of the job include long periods of remaining stationary, moving around indoors and outdoors, and positioning oneself to reach objects at varying heights and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on the location and requirements. If eligible, you will also receive a $300 cash bonus upon completion of the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program. This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work a standard 40-hour week. However, the schedule may vary depending on the needs of the business.
The Customer Service Ambassador is responsible for assisting customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services. This includes using smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory, moving and hooking up U-Haul trucks and trailers, cleaning and inspecting equipment on the lot, and answering questions and educating customers regarding products and services. Other duties may include preparing rental invoices, accepting equipment returned from rental, installing hitches and trailer wiring, filling propane, and driving a forklift.
The Customer Service Ambassador must have a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of U-Haul.

Responsibilities:
- Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
- Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
- Clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels.
- Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
- Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
- Drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
- Other duties as assigned
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
