Your Responsibilities as a
Lead Environmental Compliance Specialist:
- Assist clients in ensuring adherence to safety regulations; stormwater management; industrial waste protocols; air quality standards; hazardous materials handling and storage; and hazardous waste management, tracking, and disposal.
- Provide oversight for compliance in field projects.
- Conduct compliance inspections on Apex initiatives.
- Engage with agency inspectors and regulators to address compliance matters.
- Support compliance audits.
- Draft technical documentation.
- Stay informed about regulations relevant to Apex projects.
- Facilitate the application for regulatory permits.
- Monitor permit statuses.
- Offer guidance and training to team members regarding regulatory considerations for ongoing projects.
- Supervise field operations to ensure compliance with regulatory permits.
- Actively pursue your own professional development.

What we seek:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in environmental compliance.
- Exceptional technical writing abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Ability to maintain compliance documentation.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
- Experience in fieldwork and supervising field personnel.
- Proficiency in data management and report generation.
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
