Your Responsibilities as a

Lead Environmental Compliance Specialist:

  • Assist clients in ensuring adherence to safety regulations; stormwater management; industrial waste protocols; air quality standards; hazardous materials handling and storage; and hazardous waste management, tracking, and disposal.
  • Provide oversight for compliance in field projects.
  • Conduct compliance inspections on Apex initiatives.
  • Engage with agency inspectors and regulators to address compliance matters.
  • Support compliance audits.
  • Draft technical documentation.
  • Stay informed about regulations relevant to Apex projects.
  • Facilitate the application for regulatory permits.
  • Monitor permit statuses.
  • Offer guidance and training to team members regarding regulatory considerations for ongoing projects.
  • Supervise field operations to ensure compliance with regulatory permits.
  • Actively pursue your own professional development.

What we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in environmental compliance.
  • Exceptional technical writing abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Ability to maintain compliance documentation.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
  • Experience in fieldwork and supervising field personnel.
  • Proficiency in data management and report generation.
  • A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
