The anticipated salary range for this position is between $138,600 and $154,000, contingent upon experience, along with a full benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role involves advanced engineering problem-solving to support the operations of nuclear facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for making technical decisions and will possess extensive knowledge in their field, along with a thorough understanding of relevant industry codes and regulations. This position requires a recognized level of expertise in a specific technical area.
- Conduct advanced civil and structural engineering problem-solving to support nuclear facility operations.
- Engage in independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support various technical projects.
- Deliver in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering activities that enhance plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and corporate policies.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, maintaining proper configuration management and adherence to standard design criteria, practices, and codes in the preparation of plans and specifications.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system issues.
- Oversee initial or complete task management of engineering challenges.
- Recommend equipment, innovative concepts, and techniques to enhance performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, rectify design or material deficiencies, or comply with evolving codes and regulations.
- Support modifications to plant design, testing, and problem resolution.
- Ensure all engineering outputs are compliant with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate functional supervisory activities, including personnel management, budgetary responsibilities, and planning objectives related to engineering staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a licensed Professional Engineer.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience with a track record of exceptional performance.
- Approval from the Vice President of Engineering is required to obtain this classification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Engineering Registration or Registered Structural Engineer status is preferred.
Experience in the design evaluation and inspection of nuclear or commercial structures is advantageous.
