At CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer Exempt to lead our financial services and drive our organization's financial viability and investment grade rating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices, as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community.
  • Oversee and direct treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, and insurance activities for the organization.
  • Direct and analyze studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
  • Participate in the facility's long-term and short-term financial process.
  • Direct and participate in the development of accounting, admission, credit/collection, and internal control policies and systems.
  • Coordinate and control the facility's cash and investment management activities.
  • Appraise the organization's financial position and issue periodic financial and operating reports.
  • Direct the Controller in providing and directing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Provide advice and guidance as necessary in preparing and analyzing financial reports and executing appropriate responsive actions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the department directors and other hospital administrators/managers in coordinating interdepartmental planning efforts and addressing major issues.
  • Coordinate and control the facility's short-term cash activities in accordance with established financial policies and objectives.
  • Evaluate data processing needs on an ongoing basis and adapt programs to changing needs.
  • Direct the hospital's banks in executing cash management decisions and work with the appropriate investment managers in coordinating fund transfers and monitoring investment performance.
  • Recommend appropriate actions and strategies to respond to projected economic trends and/or regulatory changes.
  • Participate in the analysis of the financial implications of proposed capital projects and expenditures and recommend the execution of appropriate measures to respond to projected economic trends and/or regulatory changes.
  • Provide advice and assistance to department heads and managers in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports and in presenting that information to their departments and/or physician groups.
  • Ensure that accurate information is provided on a timely basis and assist, as needed, in facilitating the efficient conduct of external audits, examinations, and related financial projects.
  • Formulate department budgets and assist with the formulation of hospital capital budgets.
  • Initiate corrective action when variations arise.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Five years recent experience in a similar position in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with Microsoft Office Software, (especially Excel), as well as Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and electronic health record packages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
