Family Engagement Specialist

Join our dedicated team at Adams 12 Five Star Schools as a Family Engagement Specialist, where your role will be pivotal in fostering connections among students, families, district staff, and community partners, with a focus on addressing the social and educational needs of our students.

Position Overview:

  • Engage collaboratively with students, parents, and educational staff to cultivate strong relationships and assess family needs effectively.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive family engagement strategy aimed at boosting parental involvement and enhancing student academic performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication among students, educators, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of needs and actions.
  • Partner with external community organizations to provide resources and support for students and families, promoting their academic success.
  • Ensure alignment of the family engagement strategy with Title I funding and the District's Unified Improvement Plan.
  • Contribute to various staff meetings, training sessions, and committees at both school and district levels.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is essential.
  • A 2-year degree in education, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach and service is advantageous.
  • Background in mentoring students across all grade levels for academic success is preferred.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations and at-risk students is beneficial.
  • A valid Colorado driver's license and a clear criminal background check are mandatory.
