We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Ultrasound Technologist 2, Part-Time to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing complex sonographic procedures, operating advanced equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialty sonographic procedures in cases involving all levels of difficulty
- Operate complex and highly technical equipment, including 2-D, power, and spectral Doppler modalities
- Ensure the diagnostic quality of all scans through extensive knowledge of Vascular ultrasound techniques, disease processes, and technical pitfalls
- Make preliminary interpretations of the ultrasound examination to bring areas of suspected pathology to the attention of attending physician or fellow
- Check for venous patency on existing appropriate IV line or start IV for Venous access for the administration of contrast
- Review and obtain patient's pertinent clinical information via the patient's electronic medical record system or other available sources
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain ultrasound equipment, assure proper operation of instruments, and report equipment malfunction to appropriate staff
- Perform portable bedside examinations and train co-workers, ultrasound students, residents, fellows, and visiting personnel
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or Vascular accredited program
- Vascular Ultrasound Certification
- RVT (Registered Vascular Tech) by ARDMS
- RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer) by CCI
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
The individual in this role will perform routine and specialty sonographic procedures in cases involving all levels of difficulty. Operates complex and highly technical equipment including 2-D, power and spectral Doppler modalities for various types of Vascular ultrasound examinations.
