Inpatient Registered Nurse

University of Utah Health is seeking a skilled Inpatient Registered Nurse to join our team. As a patient-focused organization, we prioritize delivering exceptional care to our patients. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes and ensure a safe environment.
Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Identify, assess, and diagnose patient health problems through thorough assessment and interactions; evaluate patient response to interventions and modify care plans as needed.
- Clinical Nursing Interventions: Implement evidence-based nursing practices to modify symptoms and improve patient outcomes; utilize knowledge of medications, procedures, and safety precautions to initiate appropriate interventions in crisis situations.
- Leadership and Education: Provide guidance and direction to healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care; participate in educational programs to stay current on advances in nursing care; orient and educate new staff on nursing techniques and departmental procedures.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery; participate in patient care meetings to revise care plans as needed.
- Licensure: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact.
- Certifications: Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire.
- Physical Demands: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects, and working in a fast-paced environment.
This position involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment with exposure to infectious diseases and potentially high-stress situations. The successful candidate will be able to function calmly and competently in these situations.
