As a Market Operations Analyst, you will become an integral part of our Global Trading Operations team, providing essential support to DRW's Agricultural and Energy trading desks. Your primary responsibilities will encompass trade capture, trade confirmation, reconciliation, and profit-and-loss calculation and analysis. This role necessitates effective communication with both front office traders and back-office colleagues, as well as with senior management across both departments. Exceptional communication skills are vital, as you will engage regularly with various teams throughout the firm, including risk management, technology, and partnerships. The ability to maintain professionalism in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of and master the processes and workflows essential for supporting standard operational and trader assistant functions of the Agricultural and Energy trading desks.
  • Conduct trade and position reconciliation with the firm's clearing firms, prime brokers, and bilateral counterparties.
  • Perform daily P&L calculation and substantiation, ensuring that the workflow aligns with DRW's standards while accommodating each desk's preferred method of aggregating and reporting P&L.
  • Achieve proficiency in the firm's proprietary and third-party trade capture, inventory management, and P&L reporting systems necessary to support the desks' activities.
  • Serve as a process super-user for current workflows, addressing issues that may arise between internal groups at DRW and multiple external exchanges, clearers, and counterparties.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies within existing processes by leveraging technology to develop innovative solutions that enhance workflow, mitigate risk, and improve operational performance.
  • Act as a process super-user for current systems, providing critical support and recommendations regarding necessary enhancements to technology, workflows, and processes.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of traders' individual risk management tools and support their related needs.
  • Upgrade and support traders' tools to utilize technologies and tools that are standard within the firm.
  • Collaborate with technical personnel to ensure proper support and coverage for ongoing operations, as well as to procure enhancements for insufficient or new workflows, with a focus on process efficiency, risk reduction, and alignment with DRW standards.
  • Work closely with the Business Liaison team to ensure new desks, traders, and products are onboarded correctly.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or trading.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven ability to independently and swiftly resolve problems under pressure.
  • Capable of handling sensitive financial data with discretion.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with option structures and physical trading.
  • Previous interaction with front office and senior management personnel in an active trading environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, or another programming language.
  • Experience working with databases and utilizing data from APIs is preferred.
