Cook Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for our residents, ensuring that their dietary needs are met and that our facilities meet the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food for residents, following established recipes and menus.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
- Perform basic math computations and accurately weigh and measure ingredients.
- Learn and follow standard recipes, and understand and follow instructions and procedures, both orally and in writing.
Requirements:
- One year of experience in commercial or institutional cooking, or equivalent education.
- Ability to work long hours in a hot kitchen environment.
- Valid Kansas driver's license (if operating a motor vehicle).
- Pass a law enforcement security clearance.
