Position Overview:

The Arizona Official Website of State of Arizona is in search of a skilled Multimedia Forensic Specialist. The ideal candidate will operate under general oversight, conducting forensic analysis, extraction, clarification, and assessment of audio and visual media for application in criminal or administrative inquiries and judicial proceedings. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. This role is classified as competitive.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED along with three (3) years of experience in audio/video forensics, computer programming, systems analysis, criminal investigations, intelligence analysis, or a closely related field. A certification from the Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) or an equivalent credential from another organization may be accepted in lieu of the required experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The majority of work will be conducted in an office environment. Candidates may be required to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.

It is essential to obtain and maintain a valid State of Arizona driver’s license.

Travel, both in-state and out-of-state, may be necessary to fulfill specific job functions.

Additional Responsibilities:

Responding to crime scenes and working varying, irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, callouts, and overtime, will be required.

Candidates must achieve Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Forensic Video Technician certification within eighteen months (1.5 years) of employment.

Additionally, candidates must obtain Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Video Analyst certification within five (5) years of employment.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

All applicants must undergo an examination process, including a polygraph and background investigation. The Arizona Department of Public Safety promotes a drug-free workplace through pre-employment drug testing.

If driving or vehicle use is essential for job functions, the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements. All newly hired State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
