Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Consultant to join our team as a Product Owner - Business Analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and driving the process of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories.

The successful candidate will have excellent documentation skills, with the ability to write clear and concise user stories, as well as provide traceability between business requirements and user stories.

About the Role

  • Owning and driving the process of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories
  • Providing traceability between business requirements and user stories
  • Documenting requirements in a manner that allows for future reusability and ease of maintenance
  • Producing required content for product documentation, e.g., release notes, user guides, support guides
  • Analyzing existing legacy systems and proposed new projects, decomposing and documenting related business concepts, process flows, data element definitions, calculations, reports, and screen layouts
  • Keeping backlog properly prioritized according to business value delivered
  • Writing clear user stories with clear acceptance criteria and definition of done
  • Reviewing and approving technical designs as being fit for purpose and in compliance with product requirements
  • Reviewing and approving comprehensive test plans for the project, assisting team with formulating test design, cases, and environment setup
  • Mediating between various interested parties to interpret/clarify requirements and help resolve any differences that might arise as a result
  • Proactively notifying stakeholders when requirements are added or removed from scope
  • Adhering to established best practices and SDLC processes
  • Working cooperatively with scrum master, project team members from the development and testing groups to ensure a successful outcome for the project
  • Taking on multiple projects simultaneously as needed
  • Developing subject matter expertise in business areas/functions covered by assigned projects
  • Participating in periodic release activities

About You

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience as Product Owner / Business Analyst is required
  • Key experience: Working with the SCRUM Agile process or similar process; Writing client-facing documentation and user stories; Providing business analysis for software deployed at an external client site; Working on a legacy software product
  • Demonstrating excellent documentation skills (providing a returnable sample of writing style for review)
  • Energetic, self-motivated, thorough, detail-oriented, and possessing excellent analytic and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of complex financial products and derivatives is required
  • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange derivatives markets and dealing workflows is desirable
  • Knowledge of XML, SQL, and FIX is a plus
