What are we looking for in our Financial Accountant?

Russell Tobin's client, a leading American multinational transportation firm, is in search of a Financial Accountant.

This position necessitates a comprehensive grasp of fund management, journal entry processes, product launches, mergers and acquisitions, and various potential alterations in business models.

Employment Type: Contract/Hybrid

Location: Dallas, TX

Compensation: $45- $55/hr, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month-end closing procedures from BD1 to BD5.
  • Conduct analyses for discrepancies and ensure precise financial reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with revenue, payment, cash, and local compliance teams to implement intricate onshoring frameworks and new offerings.
  • Support M&A initiatives when payment and collection setups are required.
  • Develop rule modifications/enhancements within the system to facilitate onshoring projects and other business model adaptations.
  • Execute testing prior to the implementation of new rules to guarantee accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to ongoing process optimization projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on processes to promote continuous improvement.
  • Conduct initial reviews of journal entries prepared by offshore teams.
  • Examine reconciliations of intercompany accounts prepared by offshore teams.
  • Assist with the analysis of realized foreign exchange fluctuations and offer insights for financial decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, focusing on month-end closing, financial analysis, and system improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of fund management, journal entry processes, and onshoring frameworks.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Data-driven, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with product launches and M&A projects.
  • Familiarity with Oracle & HFM.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
