Position Overview: Midwestern University's Dental Institute is actively seeking qualified candidates for a faculty role within our Oral Surgery clinic. The ideal applicant will be a board-eligible or certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who is passionate about enhancing our clinical, educational, and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the education of pre-doctoral dental students, fostering their clinical and academic growth.
- Demonstrate proficiency in daily surgical procedures typical of an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon, including dentoalveolar surgeries, bone grafting, dental implants, and soft tissue grafting.
- Utilize essential software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and dental implant planning tools.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a DDS/DMD degree along with a specialty degree in dentistry.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting, whether in private practice or an academic health institution.
- Ability to secure an unrestricted DEA license and an Arizona dental practice license, along with necessary anesthesia permits.
Faculty Duties:
- Become adept in using the clinical management system.
- Maintain an approachable demeanor for students requiring assistance or guidance.
- Foster a supportive environment to enhance morale and collaboration among students, staff, and faculty.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
- Oversee patient care continuity during clinical sessions.
- Assist students in delivering quality patient care and demonstrate clinical techniques.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage administrative responsibilities related to patient care and educational activities.
