Position Overview:
The Culinary Assistant is tasked with preparing a variety of food items and ingredients to guarantee the highest quality and satisfaction for residents while ensuring cleanliness in the food service area.
Eskaton Granite Bay is a serene senior living community featuring 66 assisted living units and 32 independent living units. Our pet-friendly environment allows residents to enjoy a worry-free lifestyle with engaging activities and amenities. The dietary department offers desirable shifts on a consistent weekly schedule, and our teams collaborate to prepare and serve gourmet meals in a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Our dietary staff can also enjoy their evenings, as shifts conclude by 8:00 PM.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Training and Experience:
Previous experience in food service is preferred. Serve Safe Certification is required.
Job Knowledge:
Must possess knowledge of safe food handling and preparation techniques. Understanding of best practices to minimize waste and misuse is essential. The ability to present food attractively and assess quality through taste and smell is necessary. A broad knowledge of breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrée preparation, as well as scratch soups, sauces, starches, and vegetables, is required.
The selected candidate must successfully complete Eskaton's post-offer, pre-employment assessments, which include a criminal background check, drug screening, COVID test, TB screening, and health evaluation.
