Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and schedule athletic programs to meet the needs of the community
  • Develop and administer budgets for respective programs
  • Prepare seasonal evaluations of programs
  • Ensure program administration, setup, and activities meet the needs and goals of the program
  • Perform related work as required
Requirements
  • Knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer, including the use of a word processing program
  • Meet one of the following minimum qualification requirements:
    • Current employment with Jefferson Parish and permanent civil service status in the Department of Parks and Recreation, supplemented by at least one year of experience as a Recreation Center Supervisor, Assistant-Athletics/Playground Activities
    • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Recreation, Recreation Administration, Physical Education, or a related field
    • Completion of high school (or equivalent) or completion of business/vocational school (if academic courses were included), supplemented by at least one year of paid, verifiable, and responsible work experience in organizing and coordinating various athletic activities
