About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kitchen Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals to our residents and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Participate in the clean-up of the kitchen and dining area after each meal serving.
  • Unload delivery trucks, store food, and maintain the cleanliness of all storage areas.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and residents to ensure a positive and respectful dining experience.
Requirements
  • Food safety certification recognized by the National Restaurant Association within 90 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely use knives, mechanical slicer, and other basic kitchen utensils and appliances.
  • Meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Understanding of, appreciation for, and support of The Salvation Army's mission.
