Job Title: Registered Nurse III

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse III to join our team in the GI Motility Program. As a Registered Nurse III, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our program.

Job Summary:

The GI Motility Program at Cedars-Sinai is a leading center for the diagnosis and treatment of motility disorders. Our team of experts uses advanced technology and comprehensive testing to pinpoint the cause of disruptions to patients' digestive systems. As a Registered Nurse III, you will work closely with our team to develop personalized treatment plans that target the source of the problem.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients.
  • Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
  • Administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
  • Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, central line access, and care if applicable, and the initiation of peripheral venous access.
  • Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition.
  • Assesses signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
  • Implements appropriate reporting, referrals, and care in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.
  • Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Identifies patient's readiness for learning and ability to understand directions/instructions and give consent.
  • Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations.
  • Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates the effectiveness of intervention for patients.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • Current, unrestricted California RN license required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Specialty certification required or willing to obtain within one year from start date
  • A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • A minimum of 1 year Pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience in a procedural setting preferred
  • Experience with GI patients is beneficial
