Patient Transporter - Hospital Care Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Christus Health. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients within our hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional patient care by transporting patients to and from their destinations safely and efficiently.
• Assist patients and patient care staff as needed.
• Operate various modes of transportation equipment, including wheelchairs, gurneys, and electric beds.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and composure under stress, ensuring timely and effective response to patient care needs.
• Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
• Collaborate with colleagues to prioritize tasks, manage assignments, and maintain a high level of productivity.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory; must be obtained within two weeks of employment if not already certified.
• Prior experience in a medical environment is preferred but not essential for this role.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to stressful situations.
• Be prepared to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious agents.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods, frequently walk, and occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Maintain manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate transportation equipment and perform other job-related tasks.

Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
