Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies and laws.
  • Manage inventory control and equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare purchase orders and source competitive pricing for parts and repairs.
  • Engage with vendors regarding maintenance concerns, contracts, and warranty services.
  • Organize and delegate tasks to mechanics and workshop staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Maintain departmental expenses within budgetary constraints.
  • Guide and support mechanics in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to vehicle repairs, parts usage, and time tracking.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on various heavy equipment and vehicles.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to plan, budget, schedule, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong understanding of DOT compliance regulations.
  • Capability to inspire staff to achieve corporate and regional goals.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a focus on cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance for trucks or heavy equipment.
  • Proven ability to train and motivate team members.
  • Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret service and technical documentation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must obtain or be eligible for CDL certification within 90 days of employment.
