Regional Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Operations Manager to join our team at NJ Transit. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising the activities of road operations statewide to ensure safe and effective delivery of transit services to customers.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of bus operations to ensure on-time performance and quality service.
- Make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations, reacting calmly and professionally to ensure the safety of customers and employees.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports and correspondence, including incident reports, on-time performance reports, and log reports.
- Communicate effectively with operators and other stakeholders through various channels, including CAD and bus radio systems.
- Monitor and evaluate service levels, making adjustments as necessary to maintain consistent reliable service.
- Coordinate with field regionals and other departments to handle extraordinary events, such as major accidents, traffic interruptions, and weather conditions.
- Implement contingency plans to bring situations under control and ensure the safe and efficient operation of bus services.
- Understand and adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as NJ Transit policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of full-time paid work experience in progressively responsible positions.
- Associate's degree and one year of full-time paid work experience, or three years of full-time experience as a NJ Transit bus operator.
- Ability to possess a valid New Jersey State driver's license and obtain a CDL B permit within six months of hire.
- Ability to successfully complete NJ Transit's supervisory training program, The Art of Managing People I and II, and obtain a CDL B with a Passenger Endorsement within twelve months of employment.
This is a 24/7 operation, and employees in this role will work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as NJ Transit operations dictate. Must be willing to respond to emergencies and work extra hours.
