Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the Perishable Department
  • Receive and process deliveries, including coding, rotating, and storing products
  • Ensure proper product levels and maintain a complete understanding of company guidelines and policies
  • Process beef and grinds as directed, and wrap, label, and stock meat cases as needed
  • Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested
  • Properly clean and sanitize the department, and maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practice
  • Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures
  • Report all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Working Conditions

The Perishable Department Associate will work in a fast-paced retail store environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting of products weighing up to 50 pounds. The associate will also be required to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.
