Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Hutchinson Industries, Inc. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Configure manufacturing systems to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of process documentation, including work instructions and acceptance criteria
  • Lead problem-solving activities, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques, including SMED, single-piece flow, and 5S
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and to budget
  • Collaborate with in-house product design teams to optimize design for manufacturability
  • Work with equipment designers, in-house engineering, and manufacturing staff to develop cost-effective and working production processes
  • Collect, record, and transcribe data, and present results in reports

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in process engineering and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Excellent technical skills, including knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo
  • Experience in manufacturing is required
  • Ability to think analytically and have strong interpersonal skills
  • BS degree in Engineering preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work in an un-airconditioned environment for a minimum of 8 hours per day
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
