Job Summary

This position is a key leadership role within the Veterans Health Administration, responsible for overseeing the Substance Use Program and providing high-quality mental health services to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Substance Use Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to patients.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective management, ethics, safety, communication, and quality within the program.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of prescribing staff, including performance appraisals, proficiency, personnel actions, and peer reviews.
  • Collaborate with other medical center staff and trainees to implement treatment plans and provide consultation services as needed.
  • Develop and maintain records of meetings, reports, and recommendations, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of actions taken.
Requirements
  • Must be a physician with a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree, and be licensed to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
