Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team on a PRN status. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our Physical Therapist and Physician to implement treatment plans and provide exceptional care to our residents.
A Typical Day:
- You will screen all residents in the facility quarterly to identify those who have experienced declines in their functional abilities and determine if Physical Therapy intervention is indicated.
- You will carry out and modify treatment programs according to plan of care in consultation with the Registered Physical Therapist.
- You will monitor and report resident performance and progress.
- You will assist the Registered Physical Therapist in re-assessing patients and determining the need for continued services or discontinuation of services based on patient progress.
- You will assist the Registered Physical Therapist in discharge planning.
- You will educate staff, family, and caregivers as needed.
- You will complete all required documentation according to guidelines specified in the Documentation Manual.
- You will coordinate in-services for facility staff as needed to ensure safe and effective carryover of Maintenance/Restorative Programs and overall care of residents.
- You will attend all facility-required meetings.
- You will attend Continuing Education courses specific to your current position.
Requirements:
- An Associate Degree from an accredited Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
- You must meet all certification and licensure requirements established by the state and national board associations.
- Familiarity with Rehab Optima, Ultipro, Healthcare Source, MedBridge, PlanSource, RightTrack, PCC, and other computer software programs is necessary.
- An active South Carolina license is required.
- Active CPR certification is mandatory.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 pounds) is required.
- You must demonstrate professionalism, required assessment abilities, and clinical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written with residents, families, visitors, and Bishop Gadsden employees is necessary.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
