Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant Internal Medicine will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team at Quadrant Inc. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including patient flow management, physician assisting, instrument processing, and other clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for patient flow, physician assisting, instrument processing, telephone calls, phlebotomy, and other clinical duties.
- Prepare for the daily activities by checking schedules and preparing rooms for patient use, including cleaning, organizing, and stocking rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assist physicians with patient care and education, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, and preparing patients for examination.
- Administer patient immunizations, order labs, phone triage, administer injections as ordered by providers, and administer vaccines for travel patients.
- Tracks immunizations, keeping statistics, and updates immunization records.
- Report to the clinical coordinator or practice administrator and perform nursing procedures under the supervision of a physician or physician assistant.
- Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms, escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients' charts.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant and ensure all related reports, labs, and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required, and take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants and maintain all logs and required checks, including refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.
Requirements:
- Experienced Medical Assistant with 1 plus years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Must be Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant, have a Medical Assistant Diploma, and/or willing to obtain.
- Must have strong injections and vaccine experience, EKG experience, experience preforming manual blood pressure, experience working on EMR, knowledge of taking vitals, and excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
