Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Research Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, conducting initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzing assessment data, creating a plan of care, implementing treatment, and evaluating treatment effectiveness.

You will also be responsible for coordinating clinical drug study protocols, ensuring that the appropriate data is compiled and reported, and that protocol and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness.

  • Provides focused assessment to evaluate patients and their support systems for real and potential health and safety issues, educational needs, and resource availability.
  • Utilizes multiple means of communication, including telephone triage, in-person interaction, and the use of current and future technologies.
  • Facilitates patient access and progression through the Advanced Heart Failure Center.
  • Provides education to staff, patients, and families as needs are identified.
  • Maintains communication with referring clinicians.
Requirements
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Associate of Nursing, nursing
  • 3-5 years cardiac surgery and/or cardiology step down or critical care experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience within a physician practice setting
  • Working knowledge of medical record format and content of patient records
  • Ability to review records, read physician documentation, and verify patient identification
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with practice managers and other medical group staff/leadership
  • Work requires a high level of accuracy with the ability to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time

  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing
Work Environment
  • The individual performing this job may anticipate possible contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
  • Travel outside the office is required.
  • Overnight travel on occasion to attend seminars and training.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May have periods of constant interruptions.
