Junior Litigation Counsel – Family and Civil Law

Your Role:

We are looking to welcome a Junior Litigation Counsel to our dynamic team. In this position, you will engage in various facets of family law, assisting clients with matters such as divorce, adoption, prenuptial agreements, custody disputes, and protective orders. You will collaborate closely with seasoned attorneys and support personnel while participating in a comprehensive training program designed to enhance your legal expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a billing target of 34.6 hours weekly (approximately 1800 hours annually)
  • Attract new clients through our structured intake process for a minimum of 5 hours each week
  • Ensure a client collection rate exceeding 75% on a weekly basis
  • Work with the financial team to project client billings on a weekly basis
  • Represent clients in court and during legal proceedings
  • Guide and develop assigned junior associates and legal support staff
  • Engage in JC Law's Ideal Client Journey development program
  • Manage a consistent schedule of court appearances and hearings
  • Advise JC Law personnel on legal matters and the interpretation of laws and regulations

Your Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (additional licenses in other states are advantageous)
  • Preferred experience in domestic and civil litigation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade
  • Exceptional work ethic and a commitment to building a long-term career in law
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Knowledgeable in family law areas such as child custody, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, and financial settlements, with a willingness to expand your knowledge
  • Proficient in legal writing, including custody agreements, wills, divorces, and prenuptial agreements, with a readiness to develop further in these areas

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this position is $80,000-$130,000 annually, based on qualifications
