The position of the Corporate Counsel Associate is designed to bolster Arhaus' Legal Department and its operational teams. This role primarily involves the negotiation, drafting, review, summarization, research, and execution of a diverse range of business agreements. These include licensing, vendor, compliance, service, and marketing agreements, as well as terms and conditions for corporate events and in-store activities. The Associate will also oversee the review of marketing materials and social media content, confidentiality agreements, real estate leases, and various general business contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, draft, review, and manage marketing agreements, including those for events, contests, and collaborations.
  • Handle general business contracts, including licenses, distribution agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Advise internal business clients on legal and operational matters, including customer service and collections issues.
  • Process and coordinate vendor onboarding documents, ensuring compliance with agreements.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, including employment and trade regulations.
  • Possess knowledge of international privacy laws, such as CCPA and GDPR.
  • Support the Legal Department with ongoing litigation and related discovery processes.
  • Provide updates on contract statuses and legal risks to internal clients.
  • Interact with external law firms as necessary.
  • Ensure alignment of business and legal objectives with Arhaus policies.
  • Assist in managing the Legal Department's contract processes and electronic databases.
  • Conduct research on legal issues affecting product designs and potential infringements.
  • Facilitate collaboration with various departments, including Marketing, Operations, and Human Resources.
  • Handle other legal responsibilities as assigned, maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate and JD Degree required.
  • Active member of the Ohio State Bar in good standing.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the legal field, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced setting is advantageous.

  • Excellent business acumen and independent legal counsel capabilities.
  • Proficient in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
