Role Overview:

We are looking to recruit an Associate Attorney to join our expanding family law practice. In this role, you will engage in various aspects of family law, assisting clients with matters such as divorce, adoption, prenuptial agreements, visitation rights, protective orders, and custody issues. You will collaborate closely with senior attorneys and support staff while participating in a structured learning and development program designed to enhance your legal skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a billing target of at least 34.6 hours per week (approximately 1800 hours annually)
  • Engage in business development activities, dedicating at least 5 hours per week to client acquisition
  • Ensure a client collection rate exceeding 75% on a weekly basis
  • Work alongside the financial team to project client billings weekly
  • Represent clients in court and throughout legal proceedings
  • Mentor and guide junior associates and legal support staff
  • Participate in the Perfect Client Lifecycle development program
  • Manage a consistent schedule of court appearances and hearings
  • Advise staff on legal matters and the interpretation of laws and regulations

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland (additional state bar admissions are a plus)
  • Preferred experience in domestic and civil litigation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade
  • Exceptional work ethic and a commitment to building a long-term career in law
  • Organized with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Knowledgeable in family law areas such as child custody, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, and financial settlements
  • Skilled in drafting legal documents including custody agreements, wills, and divorce filings
