Job Summary

The Licensed Athletic Trainer Pool provides comprehensive athletic healthcare services in accordance with established protocols. The athletic training services include injury or illness prevention programs, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries or illnesses sustained during physical activity, and emergency care or first aid for injuries or illnesses sustained while participating in physical activity.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in department activities designed to enhance patient/athlete care and programs
  • Provide comprehensive athletic healthcare services in accordance with established protocols
  • Develop and implement injury or illness prevention programs
  • Evaluate, manage, treat, and rehabilitate injuries or illnesses sustained during physical activity
  • Provide emergency care or first aid for injuries or illnesses sustained while participating in physical activity
Requirements
  • Relevant outreach athletic trainer experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Athletic Training program or a related field is required
  • State of Wisconsin licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire
