The estimated salary for this role is $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents as prescribed by the treating physician and recording information regarding same. You will also safeguard medications and adhere to all Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services criteria in the performance of duties.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by the treating physician and record information regarding same.
  • Safeguard medications.
  • Adhere to all Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services criteria in the performance of duties.
  • Respond to signals from the nurse call system (bells, lights, etc.) to determine resident needs.
  • Comply with doctor's orders as directed within scope of responsibilities.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) permit issued by the Texas Department of Human Services, a high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate competence in the tasks performed by a Certified Medication Aide (CMA).

A minimum of one year of long-term care experience as a Certified Nurse Aide or CMA is desirable, but not required. Being bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
