Position Summary:

The Senior Inventory Accounting Assistant plays a vital role within the Vail Resorts Finance team, particularly in supporting the Retail division. This position is essential for providing comprehensive accounting assistance related to retail inventory across various locations, including Epic Mountain Gear and partner outlets. The individual will collaborate closely with the Inventory Accounting Analyst and Manager, focusing on operational support and monthly financial close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist VRR locations throughout North America by executing inventory adjustments and generating related reports on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Manage monthly closing tasks, ensuring timely and precise journal entries for retail inventory and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Engage with field teams to confirm inventory counts and ensure accurate adjustments are made prior to monthly journal entries.
  • Support the annual physical inventory process and participate actively in team meetings.
  • Provide assistance to both internal and external teams, including Retail Stores, Distribution Centers, Accounts Payable, and Audit.
  • Conduct administrative tasks related to annual physical inventory counts and contribute to achieving individual and team objectives.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume inventory is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Self-motivated individual with a commitment to excellence and the ability to foster strong relationships across the organization.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials, Merchandise Management System (MMS), Coupa, and OnBase is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected compensation for this role is $24.49 per hour. Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors.
