Associate Director of Publicity

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Publicity to join our team at Macmillan Publishers. As a key member of our publicity department, you will be responsible for developing and executing high-profile publicity campaigns for our authors and titles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement publicity strategies for assigned campaigns, including media outreach, author events, and social media promotion.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, authors, and agents to secure media coverage and interviews.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure a cohesive marketing strategy and maximize sales opportunities.
- Manage and mentor junior publicity staff to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our publicity efforts.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on book publicity experience, with a proven track record of success in securing top-tier media coverage.
- Exceptional communication and pitching skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of the media and a familiarity with book reviewers, magazine editors, producers, and online editors.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- A college degree or equivalent experience.
What We Offer:
