As a Pain Management Specialist with the Henry Ford Health System, you will play a critical role in addressing the complex needs of patients suffering from chronic pain. In this position, you will be responsible for providing expert psychological care to patients undergoing various forms of treatment, including implantable therapies and ketamine infusions. Your work will involve identifying and addressing psychological factors that contribute to chronic pain, as well as developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive pain management services. As a Pain Management Specialist, you will work closely with pain specialists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients. Your expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other evidence-based treatments will be essential in helping patients achieve optimal pain relief and improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to identify psychological factors contributing to chronic pain
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address psychological barriers to pain management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive pain management services
  • Provide pre-procedural psychological screening for implantable therapies and other procedures
  • Screen patients for opioid risk and develop strategies to reduce opioid use
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in health psychology or a related field, as well as experience working with medical patients in a hospital setting. A fellowship in health psychology or equivalent experience is preferred. You must also be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. The Henry Ford Health System offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
