Position Title:

CAD/Revit Detailer

Position Overview:

The CAD/Revit Detailer will be an integral member of our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team. This role focuses on collaborating with VDC professionals to produce precise technical drawings and models utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, including Revit and Navisworks. The detailer will assist in the coordination and development of project design models, generate shop and field drawings, and convert shop drawings into fabrication drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating mechanical and plumbing models based on project specifications and design drawings.
  • Ensure compliance of all drawings and models with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Implement revisions to drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive integration of design and construction documentation.
  • Complete detailed drawing/modeling tasks including preparation, piece numbering, annotation, dimensioning, and spooling.
  • Support ongoing project design and drafting efforts.
  • Manage project timelines, coordinate workflows, and oversee project budgets.
  • Facilitate VDC management in addressing and resolving critical project issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all drawing deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to project documentation standards and company policies.
  • Conduct model reviews related to the project.
  • Provide field support to align design models with installation requirements.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and participate in construction meetings.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential duties outlined. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience in the construction sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and plumbing systems is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Experience in a Revit work-sharing environment.
  • Competence in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position require regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Employees will frequently use office equipment and may need to navigate construction sites.

Work Environment:

This role typically operates in an office environment but may require travel to field locations as necessary. Employees should be prepared for both office and construction site conditions.
